As for travel by sea, Samos has two main ports: Vathi (in the city of Samos) and Karlovasi. Also in the south east of the island is also another small port, Pythagorio, which are mainly catamarans and small ferries from the Dodecanese islands and Kusadasi (Turkey). Samos is connected with Piraeus, many of the islands of the Dodecanese (Kos, Rhodes, etc..) And the northeastern Aegean (Chios, Lesbos, Limnos) and some ports in northern Greece (Thessaloniki, etc.). Samos is also linked to the nearby islands IIkaria and Fourni.
