Festivals

Religious holidays and patronal festivals of saints, to whom local churches are dedicated, are held every year on the island of Samos, with a lot of music, all sorts of events and traditional feasts. A characteristic example is the patronal festival marking the day of the Transfiguration of the Savior, organised on April 6 in the town of Pythagorio. Most patronal festivals of saints are held from the day of Easter through October 26, when the patronal day of Saint Dimitrios is marked.
